Times got hard for families and the parents were focused to turn the children over to the mills and factory owners.
A glass factory in Massachusetts had barbed wire on the fences to keep the children from getting out. Boys under the age of 12 years old would carry loads of hot glass all night. The wage for working were from 40 cents to 1.10 cents.
The poorly treatment that the children were getting was cruel. This nation was suppose to help the families make a better life. Not to treat children like worthless human beings. This formed the nation because now there is a child labor law. All children should receive the proper education and have a chance to have a childhood. Don't have to worry about working long hours for little pay.
